Minnesotans Against Common Core (MACC) has reached its first 1,000 likes/follows!!!  THANK YOU for informing your friends and family about the Common Core educational system.  Common Core removes parental and local school authority by placing control with D.C. lobbyist groups.  Those groups hold the copyright on the CCSS standards. Common Core, through the Race to the Top and No Child Left Behind grants, has instituted poorly written curriculum, data collection to 1,000 points of information on our children, shared nationally.  Students are being tested more often and that testing is mined for not only academic information but also behavioral/psychological information.  Additionally, teachers and principals are evaluated not on their teaching skills and student comprehension, but on their level of Common Core implementation.

JOIN your COUNTY GROUPS (listed two posts below) to learn how you can further help out.  We are starting to post local information and news about the local levels there.  Can you help as an administrator for your county?  We need several for each group. Administrators help out for approx 30 minutes a day.  Send us an e-mail if you are interested. Some counties have begun to split up into school districts and are meeting to discuss efforts at the local level.  Continuing to inform your neighbors and friends IS job #1.

LOOK for our e-mail on STATE LEGISLATIVE ACTION on Monday, November 4th.  We will run another BLITZ through the month of November.  The Spring 2014 legislative session is our best hope to push back on Common Core in Minnesota.  The final year of Common Core implementation is next year, 2014-2015.  All subjects must be implemented as well as Race to the Top and No Child Left Behind federal grant initiatives.  There is a push to make Common Core law.  We must be ready in Minnesota!  The only way to rid ourselves of Common Core is removal at the state level.

This week we will join all 50 states for a nation-wide STOP COMMON CORE RALLY on Facebook and Twitter this Tuesday – Friday, November 5th – 8th.  Post an article or thought on your timeline about Common Core, data mining, high-stakes testing, etc. along with a profile picture (to be provided).
