Browerville Schools to Celebrate Graduation with Ceremony
Here’s some great news for your day!! Graduates and families everywhere will appreciate this school moving forward to celebrate the K-12 rites of passage. With everyone in 6-week isolation, no doubt this event will be a joyful yet tearful celebration.
Browerville Public Schools will hold graduation outside on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 1:00pm while keeping “adequate safe distance between individuals”. Parents only are invited to keep the attendance limited.
Browerville has done a great job of working to safe distance graduates and parents under CDC guidelines. They are a small high school and therefore have a small graduating class. Mid and larger high schools could hold smaller groupings of graduates. It’s worth taking up this idea with your school!
Read the public information below.
“After significant discussion and debate, it was determined that Browerville High School will hold the 2020 High School Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 1:00 in the elementary turn around. In order to hold the ceremony, while keeping a adequately safe distance between individuals, we are limiting the attendance to parents of the graduates only, with a maximum of four. Seniors are to be at the high school by noon and meet in the high school gymnasium to line up.
Gowns will be handed out on May 5-8. The price for graduates is $10.00 for the tassel. Honor graduate cost will be $13.00 for a tassel and a cord. High honor graduate cost will be $16.00 for a tassel and two cords. In addition, all lunch charges, shop projects, band charges, and Chromebooks must be paid when caps and gowns are picked up.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, all caps and gowns are to be returned to the high school gymnasium.
The district is currently working on having the ceremony live streamed and recorded for replay. Information will follow at a later time.
Please look for a mailing describing the events to come in more detail. Again, thank you for your continued patience and understanding. GO TIGERS!”
